Description
The main income and agricultural source for all the islands is a heavy fishing industry. Many coastal villages only exist to serve as residences for fishermen and ship captains as they go out into the rich oceans surrounding Shinkami Dao. These villages range in size based on the population and how busy the ports get. Fishermen utilize a number of different ways to catch their quarry, from fishing rods and cast nets to large drag nets and even harpoons for the larger fish. Whaling is also a prevalent industry as well as Ningyo hunters, although those are far more dangerous professions.
